Privacy Notice
A clear explanation of what we collect, why we need it and the choices you have.
Last updated 4 November 2026 · Website and registration of interest
At a glance
Registering your interest gives us your name and WhatsApp number so we can let you know when Davey is ready. If you also request consideration for the user pilot, we’ll contact you to discuss taking part.
Our founders handle registrations from the UK and China. You can change your mind and ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
1. Who we are
Laneqo Ltd is responsible for deciding how your personal information is used for this website and registration of interest. We are the data controller.
Laneqo Ltd27 Old Gloucester Street
London, WC1N 3AX
United Kingdom
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email xuefangyes@gmail.com.
This notice covers visiting our website, registering your interest in Davey and discussing a possible place in the user pilot. It does not cover using the future Davey service, connecting your accounts or sharing pupil information. We’ll provide the relevant privacy information before those activities begin.
2. What we collect
- Registration details: your name and WhatsApp number, including the country calling code.
- Your request: whether you asked to be considered for the user pilot, the time you registered and a submission identifier.
- Correspondence: information you choose to share when discussing your interest or asking us a question.
- Technical information: our website providers may process your IP address, browser and device information, request times and error or security logs to deliver and protect the website.
We collect registration information directly from you. Providing it is voluntary. We need your name and WhatsApp number to register and contact you; requesting a place in the pilot is optional.
Please do not send pupil details, lesson records or sensitive personal information through this registration process.
3. Why we use your information
To let you know when Davey is ready
We use your name and WhatsApp number to send the launch notification you request by registering. Our lawful basis is your consent.
To discuss taking part in the user pilot
If you select the optional pilot box, we use your details to contact you about taking part. Our lawful basis is your consent. Selecting this box does not commit you to joining the pilot.
To operate and protect the website
We use necessary technical information to deliver the website, prevent misuse and investigate faults. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure website.
To handle your data protection requests
We use the information needed to respond to requests about your personal data and meet applicable legal duties. Our lawful basis is legal obligation where those duties apply.
We will not treat your registration as permission for unrelated promotional messages. If we want to use your information for a new purpose, we’ll explain that purpose and obtain consent where required.
5. International processing
Our founders may access registration information from the United Kingdom and China while handling your request on behalf of Laneqo Ltd. We do not export registration lists to other tools.
Our website hosting providers process information outside the UK, including in the United States. OpenAI processes UK hosted data under its ChatGPT Sites Data Processing Addendum, which incorporates the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum. OpenAI’s sub-processors are bound by its data processing requirements.
You can read the ChatGPT Sites Data Processing Addendum (opens in a new tab) and sub-processor list (opens in a new tab) for details of these arrangements, or email us to request information about the safeguards.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep registration details while they are needed to manage your request for a launch notification or pilot discussion. We will review whether they are still needed when your request has been handled, the pilot or launch plans change, or you ask us to stop contacting you.
We will delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, unless a legal obligation or an actual legal claim requires us to retain it. We may keep a minimal record of a withdrawal or objection so we can respect it, and evidence of consent where needed to demonstrate compliance.
For correspondence and technical logs, the retention criteria are the time needed to resolve the enquiry, investigate a fault or security incident, and meet applicable legal obligations.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to stop contacting you
You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying to a message from our team or contacting us using the details in section 1. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew.
You can also object to direct marketing at any time. We will stop using your information for that purpose.
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask us to:
- Give you access to your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your information or restrict how we use it.
- Provide certain information in a portable format.
- Stop processing based on legitimate interests, by explaining your particular circumstances.
Some rights have conditions or exceptions. We may need to verify your identity before responding. There is normally no charge for exercising your rights.
If you have a concern, you can contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ (opens in a new tab).
We do not use registration information to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
8. Website services
We have not added advertising or analytics tracking to this website. Our hosting providers may use technical information or necessary technologies to deliver and secure the site.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. This means your browser contacts Google to request the font files. See Google Fonts’ privacy information (opens in a new tab).
The homepage’s YouTube video loads only when you press play and uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain. Playing it connects your browser to YouTube, which processes information under Google’s Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
9. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our processing changes. The date above shows when it was last updated. Where a change needs your attention or a new consent, we will tell you before it takes effect.
