We believe the courage to work for yourself deserves dependable support.
Someone to count on. Someone who understands your priorities and helps carry the work forward.
Meet Davey Now (opens in a new tab)Behind every independent business is someone with a skill, an ambition and a life to live.
Support you can count on.
Space to do more.
Someone to count on. Someone who understands your priorities and helps carry the work forward.
Room to do your best work. Room to pursue your ambitions. Room to put the phone down and be present with the people you love.
Support should feel natural, through familiar tools and everyday conversation.
By carrying agreed tasks to completion. By keeping you informed. By respecting the decisions that are yours to make.
That is the future Laneqo is building: a trusted AI coworker for every driving instructor.
More effective time for your work.
More headspace for your ambitions.
More room for your life.
Laneqo began with a driving lesson in Leeds in 2025.
During a conversation with her instructor, Suzy discovered how he spent his Sunday afternoons: two to three hours organising the following week.
There were pupils to fit in, replies to chase and personal commitments to protect. Some pupils couldn’t confirm their availability upfront, so he held possible slots while waiting for answers.
A gap in the diary wasn’t always a free slot. Sometimes, it was a conversation still unfinished.
Could two pupils living nearby be taught consecutively? Was there enough time to travel between lessons? Would a late reply mean rearranging a plan he’d already worked through?
He moved between notes, calendars, contacts, WhatsApp, text messages and maps. Each tool held part of the picture. He carried the connections in his head: where pupils lived, who had replied, which slots were provisional and who needed another nudge.
What stayed with Suzy was the effort of keeping all those loose ends together—and knowing the same process would begin again the following Sunday.
The frustration surfaced in public discussions too:
“Half the time I'm waiting for somebody else to get back to me so I know what can be done”
Busy pupil lists. Wide teaching areas. Different lesson types. Pupils working night shifts. A working week shaped by other people’s changing availability.
We began to see what dependable support could mean: someone who remembered the details, helped make the plan and followed up until an agreed task was complete.
That became the idea behind Davey.
Suzy teamed up with technical co-founder Feng, whose experience spans AI agents, conversational systems and messaging infrastructure. His work at ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, included infrastructure handling around one million conversations a day.
Together, we’re building a trusted AI coworker that instructors can delegate work to through the WhatsApp they already use—with their judgement and approval at the centre.
A clearer week. Fewer loose ends. More room for life.
Because independent shouldn’t mean on your own.
